Since moving to Liverpool I’ve had a fascination with the Sefton Palm House in Sefton park. It’s fair to say it’s been at the top of my Liverpool wedding photography list. So was over the moon when Leanne and Kevin asked me to photograph their wedding there last weekend.
It all started with a trip to Leanne’s parents house in Formby for her bridal preparations. Leanne, the girls, mum and her dad were pretty chilled out although I’m not sure dad is used to so many girls in the house :) Once Leanne was in her dress it was time for me to make my way over to the Palm House to catch up with Kev.
Sefton Palm House
Kev and the boys were casually milling around with the guests and generally having a laugh when I arrived. Soon Leanne and the girls arrived and it was time for their ceremony! It’s always a pleasure photographing a wedding with Liverpool registrars they are amongst the best in the industry and always go the extra mile for their couples.
After Leanne and Kev’s service we just had time to get a photograph of everyone outside before the forecast rain arrived and sent us all back inside. The Palm House is a lovely wedding venue and really comes into its own when the weather takes a turn (as it did) as it still feels like being outside, in.
Albert Dock
Leanne and Kev had their evening reception at Portico in the Albert Dock, this is quite a new venue for weddings and the staff made every effort to make the day fabulous. I really enjoyed shooting at Portico it looked fantastic all laid out for the wedding breakfast with the added bonus of being right on the waterfront for spectacular views and more photo opportunities.
Leanne and Kev had rehearsed a great first dance with a surprising grand finale with the groomsmen and bridesmaids crashing the dancefloor wearing hats and sunglasses!

Rob, these are beautiful images. What an amazing wedding and wonderful venue! Superb!
That 1st image is a beautiful opener and drew me in hook line and sinker into viewing the rest of the wedding. Beautiful coverage – this little fish went willingly!
Quality Rob, Sheer Quality.
Beautiful work Rob, and some stunning locations too. Trev (UKWP – Flickr)
